About

Hi, I'm Anna

I grew up in Cornwall near the town of St Ives with beautiful ceramics and art on my doorstep.

I followed a career in intensive care nursing and in 2011 had my first pottery lesson and felt it was something I should have always done.

In 2017, pottery became my full time job and Inca Pottery - named after our beautiful german shepherd INCA, began its journey.

My main aim is to produce beautiful functional pottery that can be used and enjoyed in your home.

The Process

Most pieces are hand thrown on the wheel. Once leather-hard, the bases of the pieces are turned & shaped and left to completely dry before the first slow bisque firing to 1000 degrees. This changes the clay to ceramic taking about 48 hours to fire and cool.

The pieces are then glazed with food-safe glazes before going back in the kiln for the second firing to 1240 degrees taking another 48 hours for the firing and cooling. This vitrifies the clay, making them non porous and durable.

It’s all suitable for the dishwasher, microwave or oven.
